Caring for Each Other

Eucharistic Visitors

Volunteers are trained and licensed by the Diocese of Delaware to take communion to members of the parish who are ill or homebound. They are sent out each Sunday with some of the bread and wine consecrated at that day's Eucharist. Eucharistic visitors serve about 6 times a year.

Meal Ministry

Making_food_thumbVolunteers prepare and deliver food to families facing short-term need. Need varies, but most members are able to volunteer three to five times each year.

Office Volunteers

Office volunteers provide vital support to staff by folding and stapling weekly service bulletins, preparing the newsletter for mailing, and answering phones during staff meetings.

Parish Visitors

Parish Volunteers receive training and pay friendly calls on those in the parish who are no longer able to regularly participate in parish life. For more information, contact June Valentine through the Parish Office.

Other Parish Ministries

Youth Group Leaders

All youth group leaders are trained in diocesan safe church policies in order to assure that all children in our care are part of safe and nurturing environment. St. Paul's safe church policy is available on this site or in the parish office.

Foyer Groups

Parishlife8_thumbFoyer Groups provide an opportunity for members to get to know one another. Small groups of eight to ten people meet once a month in members' homes for a simple meal and fellowship. Groups are comprised of a cross-section of the parish-singles, couples, young people, and not-so-young people. Out of the meetings, friendships develop among people who might not have other opportunities to meet and get to know each other.

The groups are usually formed in the fall and conclude in the spring. This is a great opportunity to meet and get to know others in the parish. Contact Angela or Luke Hyman through the Parish Office if you'd like to know more.

Women's Spirituality Group

The Women's Spirituality Group provides an opportunity for women to spend time together in worship and meditation as well as providing a time to get to know each other and involve each other in our daily lives.

The group meets monthly in members' homes to have dinner and discuss various topics of interest. For more information on this way to share our lives and reflect on God and God's vision for this parish, contact the Parish office.

Docents

Trained volunteers lead tours of Old Swedes' Church, the cemetery, and Hendrickson house. For more information, contact Max Dooley through the Parish Office.
