Children's Ministries
We welcome you and your children to Trinity Parish and into the full life of our worshiping faith community!
Our Christian formation offerings include spiritual, educational, and community-building opportunities for our children to discover for themselves the living presence of God through the life and teachings of Jesus. These offerings include Sunday morning programs, including Godly Play and Children's Worship, special seasonal and family events, and Confirmation classes. Our intent is to help our children experience Trinity as their church home—a place of love, understanding, safety, fun, and peace.
Children, in turn, bring their wondrous imaginations and curiosity, their openness, awe, and amazing spirits. Play, laughter, and wonder are fully alive when the children are among us. Their unique and remarkable gifts are beyond measure to those who teach, care for, and work them. It is truly an honor and joy to share in ministry with your children.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION OFFERINGS
Nursery
Staffed by trained caregivers, the nursery provides a warm, caring environment for infants and toddlers during Sunday worship services and during special events.
Ages: Birth through 4 years old
On Sunday mornings, the Nursery is available at Old Swedes Church at 9:30am, Trinity Church at 10:00am and for Trinity Chapel at noon.
Godly Play and Children's Worship
Our Sunday morning program for children at Trinity Parish is a combination of Godly Play and Children's Worship.
Ages: 4 years old to Sixth Grade
Old Swedes' Church 9:30am
The children gather in the Christina Community Center and join the congregation at the Peace.
Trinity Church 10:30 am
The children ages 4 years old through sixth grade gather in their classrooms for Godly Play and Children's Worship at 10:30am and then join the congregration at the Offertory Hymn.
Soft Space Offered
A Soft Space for young children under age 5 and their parents is offered at Trinity during the Eucharist at the 10:30am service. We know it is difficult to worship with young children in a formal service in a hard pew, so we provide a comfortable setting in which families can worship together and children can sit on soft mats or carpets. They have a great view of what is going on. It is our wish that this will provide both children and parents with a meaningful worship time and an opportunity to create community with other young families in the parish.
Trinity Chapel Noon Latino
Children 4 years and older gather in their classroom for Godly Play and Children's Worship and join the congregation at the Peace.
Additional Ways Children Serve the Parish
Children's Choir—Our children's choir meets on Sundays right after the 10:30 am service. Led by our organist and choir director, Terry Gaus-Woolen, the choir sings during the 10:30am service several times a year.
Worship Assistants—Beginning in 5th grade, children may participate in the services as acolytes and crucifiers. Many of our youth serve in the church each Sunday. Training is provided throughout the year.
Special Events—Each year, Trinity has special events that include all the children at Trinity Parish. A special program for Stewardship Sunday, an annual Advent event, the Pageant, and Fiesta Sunday are a few of the special events offered throughout the year.
