A Word to Newcomers
We strive to offer everyone who crosses our thresholds a warm welcome. Our doors are open wide, and we hope you will experience hospitality both in these pages and when you visit us on Sunday morning.
You are invited to participate in the total life of this community, particularly in worship and in service to others. If you decide to take the next step and move from being a welcomed guest to becoming a member of our church family, know that we welcome you as a member.
Membership
We welcome all persons to membership who wish to make Trinity Parish their spiritual home. In joining Trinity Parish, the community commits to providing time, space, and well-planned worship experiences, opportunities for personal growth, learning, and service, and a setting in which each member is valued as an individual and given options for joining with others in service and worship. To become a member of Trinity requires:
- Baptism in any Christian denomination
- Regular participation in Sunday worship
- Attendance at a Newcomer Class
- Financial support of the Parish through an annual pledge
- Sharing your time and talent in your choice among the Parish's many ministries and activities.
- Confirmation for adults who desire to become formal members of the Episcopal Church or to be eligible to vote at Trinity's annual meetings and/or serve on Trinity's vestry.
Clarifications
Baptism - the formal rite of initiation into the Christian church. The Episcopal Chruch recognizes baptism by any Christian church.
Confirmation - the formal rite of adult membership in the Episcopal Church. This rite, performed by the Bishop, confirms the vows made at Baptism. Those who are confirmed are included in the Parish register and may participate in Parish elections after six months. Those wishing to be confirmed must complete a Confirmation Class.
Letter of Transfer - the formal means of transferring membership from one Episcopal Church to another. Parish staff will assist in transferring membership in this way.
